• BFNT-A3: [w/Charite, T-Labs] "Neuro-Usability": Brain-based perceptual quality assessment (currently restricted to EEG and audio signals). Investigation in how far EEG signals can be used for assessing the quality of audio signals. The aim is then to use this as an objective measure of quality perception, complementing conventional behavioral tests by adding detection sensitivity, e.g. at the threshold of perception (subconscious processing).

BCI Groups

Graz

• General comments: the Graz BCI Lab is one of the leading labs in brain-computer communication. The so-called "Graz BCI" was one of the first online EEG-based BCIs introduced over 15 years ago. Various applications for this system, including spelling devices, computer games, functional electrical stimulation (FES), and navigation in virtual environments have been developed and tested in healthy users and several patient populations.

• Gert Pfurtscheller, Professor Emeritus. Studied Electrical Engineering. He is the most famous ERD/ERS investigator. So far has authored more than 300 publications in peer-reviewed journals and published 4 books.
• Christa Neuper: Professor, director (successor of Pfurtscheller) Studied Psychology.
• Gernot R. Müller-Putz, Associate Professor. Studied Biomedical Engineering. His research interests include brain-computer communication systems, neuroprosthetic devices, assistive technology and the human somatosensory system.
